1: It is better to be safe and not take risks. How far is this true?

[ONE] In my opinion, I feel that it is depend on the situation. Sometime it is better to be safe and not to take risk. For example, if you are drunk, in that situation it is always better to be safe and not to take the risk of driving home, as you know the consequences. On the other hand, people have to take risks to discover something new or perhaps an answer to a question. For example, if no one is willing to take risk nobody will know what is outside this earth, nobody know if that antidote works on that illness. Furthermore, people also learn from their mistake when they take risk and fail.
If I was to take a risk I would ask myself is it worth it? What is the consequence? Can I bare the consequence? Do I have any other choice?

2: It is foolish to look for excitement in dangerous activities? Do you agree?

[TWO] In my opinion, people look for excitement in dangerous activities because it is dangerous that is why there are excitement.
Firstly, I do not agree that it is foolish to look for excitement in dangerous activities. Dangerous activities such as bungee jumping, if you follow the safety rule and the instruction given by the instructor I think there will no much problem but sometime accident do happen. On the other hand, I also agree that it is foolish to look for excitement in a different kind of dangerous activities, such as betting with your friend on driving when you are drunk. I find this kind of dangerous activities is not looking for excitement but perhaps looking for death.

3: women in society. What are their roles these days?

[THREE] In the past women used to be housewife, they look after their husband and children, cook for their husband and children, and clean the house and gossip with other housewife. However, nowadays most women roles in this society changed. They work in this society just like the men sometime they even did better then the men. They do business and they work in office. Furthermore, women now also stopped relying on men to provide them with foods and money, they climb higher and higher in their career and helped out in the family income. However, even though roles of some women in society changed there are also women who work in this society and look after their husband and children when they are back from work, they also cook and clean the house during the weekend.

4: Qualities that you would look for in your friend.

[FOUR] Everyone needs friend; as friend is someone who supports you and helps you up when you are feeling down, give you the rights advise when you are in trouble and someone you can trust.
Everyone can be consider my friend I don’t have an exact qualities that what my friend must have or when I am looking for friend. However, I know that being a friend it is very important to be honest. No one will like the feeling of being cheated thus it is very important to be honest. Furthermore, once you start lying, the trust between friends will break and it will be difficult to carry on the friendship.

5: Advancement in medical knowledge - boon or bane?

[FIVE] In my opinion, I feel that advancement in medical knowledge is a boon and bane.
In the past people tend to suffer from their illness for a long time but now I am impressed by how medical knowledge have bless us human. It has discovered the medicine to cure different kind of illness, which helped human from their suffering and Medical knowledge also helped to safe a lot of people by discovering the illness earlier and treat it before it becomes worst.
However, medical knowledge is also a bane, as some people tend to misuse the medicine such as using it as suicide or turning it into drug. If only people know how to use the medical knowledge wisely it will be a boon for everyone.

6: Would the world haven been a safer and cleaner place without science?

[SIX] I do not agree. Without science we would not be living so comfortable now.
We cannot live without science, as without it a lot of thing will not be discover.Science also helped the world to be safer as it discovers technology that protect human is also produced machine that helped to clean the place.

7: Science has done more harm than good? Do you agree?

[SEVEN] I do not agree. In my opinion, I feel that science has done more good than harm but people tend to destroy the good intention science brought to us.Science has discovered a lot of thing such as medicine. The actual intention of it was to cure illness but some people turned it into drug, which in turn harmed the people. If people know how to make use of the good intention of science, it will bring in more benefit to us.

Chinese New Year 2008

Happy Chinese New year! I am quite excited for this year Chinese New Year. However, it's kind of terrible and boring for the first two day of the Chinese New Year.

On the first day of Chinese New Year, I woke up quite late as I slept quite late the night before. When I wore my New Year clothes I found out that it was loose and I felt uncomfortable wearing it. I tired to tighten it by pin. I gave up in the end and wore the other clothes. I am afraid that my mother will get angry by thinking that I am going to waste her money again because I didn't wear those clothes. Mother was angry for the whole journey to my grandparent house. However, she started talking to me when we reach grandparent house. We (my family) went visiting relative with cousin, uncle and aunty. After visiting relative we (include cousin, uncle) stayed at grandparent house playing cards till midnight.

On the Second day of Chinese New Year, mother helped me to sew the clothes which were loose but i still felt uncomfortable wearing it. Maybe I am not use to it. Mother helped me to sew again which took up a lot of time causing us to be late reaching grandparent house. We (include cousin, uncle, aunty) went visiting relative shortly after we reach grandparent house. Visiting relative was fun as every year we only see them one time for about 30-60minute then adult will start talking about how is their or our life, children will start searching for sweets, chocolate and other New Year food to eat. We (my family) went to mother side grandparent house after visiting relative as my Malaysia cousin will be coming. Over there we ate steamboat for out lunch and played with my cousin. After visiting mother side grandparent house they decided to visit our house before going back to Malaysia. After their visit we went back to grandparent house and stayed till midnight playing cards.

On the third day, I started doing homework hoping that I could finish on time as there is quite a lot for me to finish.

Target and expectaions resolution for 2008

This year the year for my 'O' levels.It is kind of stress as this year 'O' levels will be move forward which mean that the time for me to revise will be lesser.Furthermore, my result wasn't that good for my Secondary3 EOY part of the reason was i didn't work hard enough.In order to improve on my result, i need to set target for it

Wondering will i be able to achieve it? It's really time to buck up on my study.

As for my resolutions I hope that I could pass my 'O' Level with good result and improve my English especially my vocabulary, grammar and tenses as English is a very important language. It is very important to pass ‘O’ levels with good result as it affect my future if I will be able to get the course I wanted in polytechnic or maybe I could even get in junior collage, which a lot people suggested, to me. Thus, I will be working hard for my 'O' level .

How i spent holidays.the most interesting event that happened to me during holiday.

During the holidays, i went for Rainie Yang's concert. I am a fan of Rainie Yang. I went to the concert with my family and cousin. The concert was held at Bukit Panjang. Rainie Yang recently had a new hairstyle which look lik jellyfish and this concert are looking for Rainie Yang fan who had the same hairstyle. They will have the opportunity to take photo with her. when the concert start there were five of Rainie Yang fan who had the same hairstyle. However, the interesting part is there was one of them who used the pomelo skin stick the wig on it and wear it on her head. After Rainie Yang performance those who had brought her CD will be able to have her signature. Basically, i spent most of my holidays dancing.

23june:

This afternoon will be going to NUS for chemistry course, meet yi hong, yumin, jie wei, dennis, kenneth,bernard and wei jian at Ang Mo kio MRT station at 1pm yi hong was the only one reach the MRT Station, i am late abit and soon yumin came. We waited for jie wei, dennis, kenneth,bernard and wei jian. They were late for about 40 minute. After that we took MRT and bus95 and we missed the bus stop which case us to be late for the course.They were playing a show CSI about chemical which killed a woman.After the video there were a short explanation about the chemical in the show from the NUS student.They played another show of CSI and explained the chemical in the show and the course ended. I liked the first part of the show though i don't really know what is happening in the show and i hardly catch what they said in the show. After the course Went to bugis with yi hong to icon mall went back home around six. The purpose of going to the course is to do our chemistry homework we need to write a journal about the course.

18 June:
10:30am english tuition conducted by miss chin, nearly late for it.

19June:
Star program started at 8am, as there is a trial paper for NSW, did not finish answering all the questions. After the trial paper went back class for the training.
After the training went for Home Economics class we cooked curry puff and boxes chicken, it might be the worse cooking I ever did the curry puff cannot be eaten as do not have enough time to be baked, the chicken were a bit burnt. Throw away the curry puff after the lesson and went home. Though the chickens were a bit burnt my brother finished it and said it was quite nice, glad to hear that and hope he won’t have Diarrhea.

20 June:Star program started at nine and I am a few minute late for it. Surprise to see that there were only two of my classmate chun hui and yu min however after a few minute yi hong came and a few more people which I don’t really remembered. This is the last lesson for the training for NSW. I sited at the front and copied down what the teacher wrote on the white board. His method of teaching to me might be long I remembered him teaching a question which actually got a shorter method but he used a longer method to teach I told him the shorted method and he told me he thought it will be easier for us to understand. The way he teach is he tried to use the clearer and shorter method to teach us how to solve the problem.

On the 13, 14 and 15 June there were class chalet for Integrity two at pasir ris Costa sands resort. It is a three day two night chalet.

june13:Mornings don’t really feel like going to the chalet but I have to as already paid for it. I went to meet yi hong first and meet chun hui at the bus stop, we too bus88 and transfer to 354 at pasir ris interchange. Our chalet number is K-02, when we reach there Jie Wei, Bernard, Wilson, Kenneth, Wei jian and effendy already there. After putting our bags down yi hong called her ex-senior shao jun to meet I followed her to meet shao jun. we went to city hall as she is over there after meeting her we went to MacDonald for a while and went walking around till 9pm plus.

june14:
About twelve plus went to watch men in whit with yihong and chun hui at Tampinese Golden Village, quite a funny show. At about evening went to Giant to buy BBQ food. After go back helped to prepare the food and yi hong wash the seafood and start the BBQ. Take the first bus back form pasir ris to Ang Mo Kio.

15june:reach grand house quite early don’t dare to walk along the corridor as it is quite dark I run instead of walking.

I enjoyed the first day of the chalet as when we went to meet shao jun she brought her dollfie name Getsuya.

First week of holiday:

29 may
There is star program in the morning it started at 9am but reach school one hour before the star program started. Star program is the training for NSW Maths Competition, which will be held on Tuesday, 3 July 2007. This is an international Mathematics competition in which involves school throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Pacific region and South Africa. All participant will receive a certificate and an individual student report indicating their performance in the competition. The report also highlights our strengths and weaknesses in Mathematics.
After attending the mathematics training program went for the English remedial by miss chin I did learn something from the remedial and hope that I will remember it.

30 may
Star program started at 8am, as there is a trial paper for NSW. I enjoyed doing the trial paper the question is interesting it need a lot of thinking before you could solve the question. Some question might felt to be difficult but actually is quite easy it is the way of thinking, the heart of wanting to solve and how you look at the problem.

31 may
My dance senior celebrating her birthday her actual birthday date is 2 June. At first decided to go sentosa but there is a sudden change in venue as some of the people is not coming and we went to watch a movie.

My reflection on Jiritsu project

Think back it had been month since the project started. Upon hearing that we will be working with the Japanese Taki High School, I was quite excited as this project we are going to use blogging to communicate with a group of students in Taki High School who we do not even know who they are. Excited but also afraid, as I am a girl that seldom communicate some question started popping up me brain E.g. “Will I be able to communicate well with my blog pal?” It turns out that I seldom communicate with them.
However, this project allows me to know more about my future career, how to know if the career is suitable for me, the qualification of the job, the interesting origin of the job and also how am I going to plan to success in the job. The Japanese student also did a great job in giving the information of their ambition and the planning for achieving the ambition. I hope that this project will continue as it is a very good experience allowing to make friends from other countries. We can also work with other places and learn about their ambition and career qualification.
